One-on-one with Boston Bruins sophomore Tyler Seguin
NHLers spend their entire careers chasing the Stanley Cup and many retire without ever capturing hockey’s ultimate prize. In sharp contrast, Boston’s Tyler Seguin got his first taste of glory in his rookie season. But that hasn’t diminished the 19-year-old’s drive to become one of the league’s elite players.
In his rookie campaign Seguin had a respectable 11 goals and 22 points in 74 games and contributed to the Bruins historic run with three goals and 7 points in 13 playoff games. He showed glimpses of his superstar potential last year and there’s no reason to think he won’t continue his development and validate Boston’s decision to take him with the second overall pick in 2010.
THN’s Ryan Kennedy caught up with the Brampton, Ont., native at the BioSteel training camp in Toronto to discuss his championship season, avoiding the sophomore jinx and much more.
