Detroit Red Wings 2011-12 preview

  • The Detroit Red Wings have not missed the playoffs since 1990 and there is no reason to think that impressive streak will end this year.

The veteran core of Nick Lidstrom, Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk remains intact with few signs of slowing down. But if the team hopes to make a long run this spring they will need new heroes to rise in Motown and lessen the load on their three superstars.

Host Edward Fraser is joined by writers Ryan Kennedy and Ken Campbell to discuss… The loss of Brian Rafalski and his replacements… What to expect from the Wings offense... Lidstrom and Jonathan Ericsson… And the play of Jimmy Howard.
