Rangers will go as far as Henrik Lundqvist can carry them

  • It is no small coincidence that since Henrik Lundqvist joined the Rangers following the lockout, the team had qualified for the spring dance every season until last year. The Swedish-born netminder has been a rock for the Rangers and since his rookie year he is averaging 70-plus games a season.

And even with the Blueshirts finishing outside the top eight in the Eastern Conference in 2009-10, Lundqvist was still able to put up respectable numbers. His .921 save percentage was better than his career average and his goal-against average was a respectable 2.38.

After a slow first few starts to this season, THN’s Ken Campbell caught up with the Rangers netminder as he worked back into top form.
