Rangers will go as far as Henrik Lundqvist can carry them
It is no small coincidence that since Henrik Lundqvist joined the Rangers
following the lockout, the team had qualified for the spring dance every
season until last year. The Swedish-born netminder has been a rock for the
Rangers and since his rookie year he is averaging 70-plus games a season.
And even with the Blueshirts finishing outside the top eight in the Eastern Conference in 2009-10, Lundqvist was still able to put up respectable numbers. His .921 save percentage was better than his career average and his goal-against average was a respectable 2.38.
After a slow first few starts to this season, THN’s Ken Campbell caught up with the Rangers netminder as he worked back into top form.
