One-on-one with Finnish left winger, NHL draft prospect Miikka Salomaki

  • Miikka Salomaki has been a mainstay for the Finnish national team since donning the blue and white for the under-16 junior team in 2008-09. But it wasn’t until his impressive performance at the World Junior Championship in Buffalo this year that he started garnering attention as a legitimate NHL prospect.

This season playing in the SM-Liiga, Salomaki had a modest four goals and 10 points in 40 games for Karpat, but more importantly, he gained valuable experience playing against men as an 18-year-old.

THN’s Ryan Kennedy caught up with the Finnish left winger as he prepared for the NHL Entry Draft in Minnesota.
